I am a wan, watermelon-shaped man who dreams of bouncing the world. Frankly, sometimes the world bounces me. I own a neighborhood hangout called Stanley's Cafe in a dilapidated neighborhood of New York City. I live above the store. No, I am not married, but I have a younger friend name Vera. Strictly Platonic. We recently visited a coffee plantation owned by an evil planter named Dom X. Along the way I met an irascible parrot named Birdbrain. You can read about my first quest in THE MAN WHO'D BOUNCE THE WORLD, by Jonathan Freedman. This is the 30th anniversary of its publication by TURTLE ISLAND PRESS. You can find the text, pictures, and video on the web at http://bouncetheworld.tumblr.com.
The sequel, STANLEY SCUKA BOUNCES A BEAN, is being published by BOUNCE THE WORLD PRESS as I speak. Squawk! Honestly, Birdbrain, you shouldn't interrupt when I'm introducing myself...
More anon,
Stanley
